OVERVIEW
We work closely with Chris Keown and Alex So, owners of AxeVentures, to identify unique locations that offer high ceiling clear heights for flying axes and high pedestrian foot traffic. We found their first San Diego location in North Park and a second location in Oceanside, CA. We are currently looking for additional expansion locations in San Diego, Los Angeles and Orange counties. Chris and Alex continue to impress me with their ability to handle four locations in operation currently and their willingness and capability to take on more locations as we land them.

As you can imagine, axe throwing is a challenging requirement for several reasons. Many property owners initially think that this specific use and new business is trendy, short lived and has inherent risks that most owners are not willing to entertain. That has not stopped us from continuing to find the right locations and flexible property owners that are willing to give us a shot. Ultimately, we have successfully packaged AxeVentures as a unique action games business that brings real value and fun to an otherwise stale property retail mix. We have turned what was once considered a negative into a real asset for several centers and their property owners.
